Kaarten van achter niet bedrukt. Formaat, circa 15 x 14 cm. Leer op rug en hoeken, gemarmerde boorden. Slijtageplekjes band. Boekblok voor leeftijd in goede staat. Uitgebreid verslag waarbij ook de verliezen van Nederlandse schepen vermeld worden (gewone schepen maar ook "Dutch privateers"). Op bladzijde lxxxvii staat vermeld "1799. Aug. 20. The Dutch colony at Surinam surrendered, without opposition, to the forces under Vice-Admiral Lord Hugh Seymour and Lieut.-Gen. Trigge. Gebeurtenissen in Europa, maar ook Jamaica, de Leeward islands, Kaap de Goede Hoop welke de Britten op 16 september 1795 in bezit namen na gevechten (blz. 98). Dit boek biedt een schat aan informatie over deze periode aan het einde van de achttiende eeuw. Referentienummer 6315.
